LEGOLAND Florida has been working on its largest expansion since opening in 2011. There’s been a lot of speculation about what would be coming there. Some plans that were submitted to the county indicated it would be a clone of the LEGOLAND California Pirates land. That wouldn’t be bad, but LEGOLAND Florida refused to confirm the rumor. A few weeks ago a couple of online pubs put two or three things together and decided that it would be themed to one of LEGO Group’s newest TV properties – Land of Chima.
Today LEGOLAND Florida posted the following video on its Facebook and Youtube channels.
It would seem like some CHI, aka an energy source from the land of Chima, was leaking through the construction site. This would seem to confirm the Chima theory.
According to LEGO.com, here’s what you need to know about Chima:
Once a pristine, natural paradise, CHIMA has become a battle ground for eight animal tribes. Best friends are now enemies. The animals fight for control of a natural resource called CHI, a powerful element that is both a source of life and potential destruction. Only a few brave heroes in CHIMA understand the true nature of CHI, and the possible downfall of CHIMA that will result from its misuse. Their stories, and the stories of those who seek to destroy them, are known as… THE LEGENDS OF CHIMA.
I think it’s spectacular that LEGOLAND Florida will get its own themed area. Something that will draw fans of the Chima show to central Florida. Of course that depends on whether or not Chima is as big a success as NINJAGO.
