Early Color Film of The Three Stooges

three-stooges

This color footage of The Three Stooges at the Steel Pier, Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1938 is amazing. The film made by Vaudevillian George Mann of the comedy dance team, Barto and Mann. George Mann and his wife Barbara Bradford also appear in the film.

Definitely comedy gold. Young stars of today could do well to learn from the old masters. I was watching Laurel & Hardy in “Politiquerías” a Spanish language version of “Chickens Come Home.” The comedy duo read phonetic Spanish off cue cards and still managed to make their routine seem effortless. Stan and Oliver did a color film in 1941 and it’s on YouTube too.
